About Our Staff

Director

Ashley Kindberg is the Executive Director of Childcare at the Richard F. Blake Children’s Center. She joined the Greater Morristown YMCA in June 1988 as the Director of our new Y’s Owls Child Care Center, which opened in October, of that year. Ashley holds college degrees in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education and Special Education. She is the past president of the of the North West chapter of the NJAEYC. As director, she is hands on in all aspects of running a high quality children’s center. She is available to parents to discuss the center or your child’s development. To the children, Miss Ashley is known for stories about her Girl Scout adventures, singing songs, and dancing with the children. They especially love when Miss Ashley reads and creates stories with her wide variety of hand puppets!

Ashley is delighted to invest her time and talents in developing and maintaining a high quality center. She understands parents and children. Her own two children attended and graduated from the program.

Parent Services Director

Rose McGeough is our Parent Services Director. Rose has been with the center over 20 years. She began her career with the center as a preschool teacher. After ten years in the classroom, she was promoted to the Parent Services Director. Her classroom experience is a tremendous asset in understanding children and their development. She can be found at the front desk handling enrollments, answering questions and recommending the right class for children new to the center.

Our Staff

The staff goal is to make children feel secure and happy and develop trust and confidence with their parents. We do this by hiring well-qualified staff that is responsive to each child’s needs.

Our average tenure for administrators and teachers in an impressive 10.5 years. When we do hire, we carefully screen for people who are passionate about children and we work hard to keep them so there is a continuity of care.

Each classroom is staffed by a certified teacher. We exceed state licensing requirements by having an assistant in each room. Our ratio is always higher than required. All staff are pediatric CPR and First Aid certified and required to attend at least 10 hours of workshops each year to expand their knowledge in areas like brain development, social and emotional growth, and the importance of creative play. We value our teachers and know that investing in them is a good investment for all of us.
